Amy Pritchard is a consultant for Democratic and Progressive campaigns and organizations. Pritchard is President of AP Campaigns a general political consulting firm for progressive non-profits and partisan organizations. She is Senior Vice President of Mammen Pritchard, a marketing and direct mail firm which works with Democratic candidates, party committees, initiative and referendum campaigns, trade associations, labor unions and public interest groups.
In 2003, Pritchard founded Democratic GAIN – an association for Democratic and Progressive Political Professionals - and current serves as its President. Democratic GAIN supports individuals and organizations through training, mentoring, professional benefits and employment services.
In 2004 she took a leave from her consulting to serve full time as the Political Director of the Democratic National Committee.
Over the past 17 years, Pritchard has worked in numerous local, Congressional, state-wide and Presidential campaigns – including managing many races and working on the ground in 26 states. One of the nation’s leading experts on initiatives and referenda, Pritchard is the past President and current Board member of the Ballot Initiative Strategy Center, an organization that monitors ballot measures and provides training, research and strategic guidance to progressive ballot measure campaigns. In 1995, she managed the successful state-wide campaign to defeat an anti-gay ballot initiative in Maine.
From 1997-1998 Pritchard served as the Midwest and Northeast Political Director at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
Pritchard has worked has trained extensively including for the DNC, DCCC, AARP, Wellstone Action, BISC, Progressive Majority and a variety of other organizations including internationally for the National Democratic Institute (in Kosovo) and the Women’s Campaign International (in Venezuela).
Pritchard also has extensive grassroots lobbying and organizing experience, having worked for the Human Rights Campaign, Service Employees International Union and the American Psychological Association.
Pritchard was raised in Boston and received a B.A. in Political Science from American University in Washington, DC. She and her husband George Tricker reside on Capitol Hill with their dog Caesar and cat Cleopatra.
